Shivsamadhi was reconstructed by 'Shri Shivaji Fund Committee' founded by Lokmanya Tilak in 1895. Lokmanya Tilak (Bal Gangadhar Tilak) is one who struggles for freedom from British rule. In 1894, Lokmanya Tilak initiated to celebrate Ganeshotsav and Shiv Jayanti Utsav publically for national awakening against British rule. The main objective of this large-scale public celebration was to pay obeisance to the sacred Samadhi and awaken the patriotic spirit by eulogizing Shiv Chhatrapati.

ReplyDeleteशिवाजी महाराजांची समाधी हि महात्मा फुले यांनी शोधून काढली आहे . तसेच पहिली शिवजयंती सुद्धा फुले यांनीच सुरु केली आहे. लोकमान्य टिळकांचा शिव समाधी आणि शिवजयंतीशी काही संबंध नाही.

It is a false propaganda that the samadhi was discovered by Phule. Don't create non-sensible information like this. Give proofs before publishing such information from an authentic old unbiased historian.
